Getting started with SPIP

I’ve graduated from an engineering school in computer science so I’m not a complete n00b about that but it’s really amazing nobody ever mention how to "design" your page. Is everyone using Dreamweaver or some progs to create their graphical chart ??

I’ve just installed SPIP and I’m lost as to what to do first. I have written down on paper how I want my site to look like but I have no clue as to where write the code (though effectively writting it might another problem) !

I’ve got a few hunches as to where to look, but as of today, I’m not doing so well...
