The 2nd half of the Championship has just started but our chances are already at stake...

Third Set

We find a hard time recovering from the previous losses and start losing focus. We don’t really give them any opposition and quickly fall back. They win the set and the match on a harsh score for us : 25-17 for the set and 3-0 for the match.

Letting the pressure go, I crumble in tears at the end of the match and get comforted by Axel (Captain) and Christophe (Libero). They both acknowledge I did perform well but I can’t refrain myself from thinking it was somehow my fault.

They both comment our fighting spirit as a team and say we were globaly taking the opponents too lightly (cruising from our win vs Venus) and didn’t have the proper set of mind to engage the match.

They also add that we didn’t look so good from both the outside (Christophe didn’t play and saw the match from the bench) and the inside (Axel). We didn’t play like we did last week vs Venus (worse at the service, not going to the ground that often, etc) and that I don’t have to be the only one taking the blame.

I feel a little better after that but it still aches to suffer a defeat, especially when one performs well.

Mathematically we can’t be crowned unless :
We don’t lose too many sets vs Pitohiti (we won 3-2 last time)
Venus beats Tefana on a score worse than 3-0
We beat Venus on a score no worse than 3-1

There’s a long way to go until that match and I hope we’ll be able to recover by then.

Because of our loss, we're down to 3rd place

PS : My thoughts go to Rafio who injured his left arm the day after the match and who will be unable to play for the rest of the year...

PS2 : There’s a video of an interview of my coach. I’m trying to figure out how to compress it into an .avi file. When this is done I’ll upload it. If you know how to convert a .vob file into an .avi file please tell me.

Merci pour la vidéo ! Tes adversaires ont l’air très fort. Ils cherchaient tout le temps à vous déstabiliser. Je pensais entendre les recommandations de ton coach à mi-temps. Ex: " Il faut muscler votre jeu", ou alors," Soyez plus dynamiques." Bon, j’espère que tu te remettras rapidement de cet échec. A bientôt.

P.S. Dans l’ensemble, j’aime bien la mise en page de ton site web, sauf les logos du volley-ball. On voit une femme monter au filet, alors que l’homme reçoit le ballon à deux mains ??!! C’est un match mixte ?!

P.S. J’apprécie aussi la rubrique sur les mathématiques, en particulier le tour de magie avec les cartes.

  Choses promises choses dûes donc la vidéo est là =)
  
  Il s’agit en fait de la page sportive d’un magazine télé, ils cherchent donc plus à résumer ce qui s’est passé qu’à entrer dans l’intimité des équipes pendant les temps morts... Et puis, on ne se dit pas vraiment grand chose à part, "on arrête les fautes" ou "plus de motivations les gars"...
  
  Sinon le logo du volley-ball c’est un mix entre les logos officiels des Jeux Olympiques de Pékin (la réception) et celui d’Athènes (l’attaque). Il ne me semble pas qu’il y ait de distinction entre les disciplines hommes et femmes.
  
  Pour la rubrique mathématique, ce ne sont que des liens vers d’autres sites, et c’est vers eux qu’il faut adresser tes remerciements =)

  Un commentaire pour améliorer ton site : comme tes traductions en anglais et en français ne sont pas mises en ligne au même moment,on a beaucoup de mal à suivre tes "news". D’ailleurs, j’avais mis du temps pour retrouver mon message précédent et ton vidéo. Ton site est intéressant, mais on s’y perd un peu, Totoro. Bon allez ! C’est tout pour l’instant.

  Déjà merci de laisser un commentaire, c’est quelque chose d’assez rare pour le noter.
  
  Ensuite, je sais très bien que vous vous y perdez entre les 2 versions (FR & ANG) du site, et la meilleure preuve c’est que tous les commentaires écrits en Français se trouvent dans des articles écrits en Anglais...
  
  Peut-être êtes vous trop impatients pour poster vos commentaires dans les versions françaises des articles ?
  
  La rubrique de News (Actualités) me sert à "annoncer" ce qui m’arrive. Pour avoir des informations sur les nouveautés, il vaut mieux se référer à la petite brève en haut à droite de la page d’accueil (en ce moment elle s’intitule "Lagging behind" en Anglais et "A la traîne" en Français)...car c’est dans ce petit espace que j’annonce la mise à jour d’articles, l’ajout de photos/vidéos, etc...

  Thanks for the tutorial. I’ve completely forgotten about Virtual Dub, so thanks for the reminder. The thing is I have to transform AND compress my .vob file into an .avi (or .mpeg) file so I can upload it using my 56k connection (yeah dial-up still exists).
  
  I’m still messing around with some options in Virtual Dub but so far, the software creates a file bigger than the original one, which is obviously not what I need to do...
